The Atherton Platypus Series
introduces a new era in washer / disinfectors. Utilizing colour touch screen operator interface technology, employing easily understood graphics the Platypus Series provides a powerful yet easy to use resource in the infection control process.

The Platypus Series control system provides complete freedom to the operator to choose from 3 user defined preset cycles - Surgical Equipment, Hospital Utensils or Anaesthetic Equipment, or program their individual cycle requirements.

After the washing / disinfection process has been completed, the operator can choose to use the inbuilt drying feature, provided as standard on the Platypus Series, or transfer the load to an Atherton drying cabinet to free the disinfector for additional cleaning cycles.

The electrically actuated door on the Atherton Platypus Series washer / disinfector can be opened and closed with the touch of a finger. When the start cycle icon is touched on the control screen, the door will automatically close and the cycle will commence. The door cannot be opened during the cycle process to prevent any injury to operators. At the end of the cycle, the door will open when the operator touches the cycle complete acknowledgment icon.

The Platypus Series Washer / Disinfector is manufactured from stainless steel throughout, and can be supplied with single or pass through double doors.

Wash, rinse and disinfecting water is circulated by a powerful 500 Lt/min stainless steel pump. The wash chamber and piping system is designed to gravity drain to waste, thereby minimising the possibility of bacterial growth from residual water within the system. Where an external vent from the chamber cannot be supplied, a condenser unit can be mounted on the top of the unit as an optional extra.
